Solving Practice Bloat by Hard-Coding an Estate-First Infrastructure that Scales with Your Firm.

  • How does Bowline differ from a "General Practice" CRM?

Most CRMs are built for litigation and high-volume courtroom cycles. Bowline is hard-coded for the estate planning lifecycle. We solve the unique friction of multi-generational family mapping, trust funding tracking, and long-term fiduciary oversight that generic tools simply ignore.

  • Can I migrate my existing data from platforms like Clio or PracticePanther?

Yes. We specialize in "Clean Migrations." Our team helps you transition your active matters and contact databases into the Bowline ecosystem, ensuring you don’t lose a single fiduciary detail or document during the move.

  • Can I switch plans later?

Yes. You can upgrade from Free to Tier 1 or Tier 2 at any time. If you’re on Tier 1 and want to add the intake app and client portal, upgrading to Tier 2 is straightforward — your existing configuration carries over.

  • Is there a setup fee?

Tier 1 has a $500 one-time setup fee, and Tier 2 has a $1,000 setup fee. These cover professional installation and configuration of your Bowline system — estate planning fields, layouts, pipelines, automations, and integrations. We do the work so your system is ready to use when you get it. The Free tier has no setup fee.

  • Is my data secure?

Your data is stored in Zoho’s infrastructure, which is SOC 2 Type II certified, GDPR compliant, and uses 256-bit AES encryption at rest and TLS encryption in transit. Zoho operates data centers with ISO 27001 certification. You maintain full ownership and control of your data at all times.

  • Do you offer a free trial?

We offer a Free tier that gives you Bowline’s estate planning copy customization applied to your Zoho CRM at no cost. This lets you experience the foundation of the system before committing to a paid tier. For Tier 1 and Tier 2, we recommend booking a demo so we can show you the full platform in action.

  • Do you offer training?

Yes. All paid tiers include weekly live office hours via Zoom and access to our knowledge base with video tutorials, how-to articles, and Zoho resources. We also provide onboarding guidance during your initial setup.

  • Can I manage Probate and Estate Planning in one system?

Yes. Bowline’s pipeline and workflow system can be configured for multiple matter types within estate planning, including probate and trust administration. The underlying Zoho CRM supports multiple pipelines that can run simultaneously.

  • How does the “No-Entry” automation work?

When a client completes their intake through DecisionVault or the Bowline Intake App, their information — names, contact details, family relationships, asset data — flows directly into your Bowline matter record. No manual re-typing required. When they book a meeting, the system automatically creates or updates the contact and links it to the relevant matter.

  • Is Bowline better for a solo practitioner or a small firm?

Both. Solo practitioners benefit from the automation that acts as a digital assistant — handling scheduling, task reminders, and client follow-ups that would otherwise eat up hours. Small firms benefit from the centralized hub where associates, paralegals, and staff can collaborate on matters with shared visibility.

  • Does Bowline handle complex family trees and multiple fiduciaries?

Yes. Bowline’s contact association features allow you to link multiple contacts to a single matter — spouses, children, trustees, beneficiaries, successor trustees, and other fiduciaries — with clear role tagging for each.

  • How secure is the Client Portal for sensitive financial data?

The client portal runs on Zportals, which connects to your Zoho account via OAuth 2.0 security protocol. All data is encrypted in transit. Client access is password-protected with role-based permissions, so each client only sees their own information.

  • Does Bowline charge extra for these integrations?

Bowline does not charge extra for integration connections. However, some integrated tools (DecisionVault, Zportals, LawPay) have their own subscription costs billed directly by those providers. Zoho-native integrations (Sign, Workdrive, Bookings, Forms, Analytics) are included with your Zoho One subscription.

  • Will my existing data from DecisionVault sync automatically?

Yes. The DecisionVault integration pulls client contact information, family details, and asset data directly into your Bowline matter records. The initial sync is set up during your Bowline onboarding.

  • Is the connection with LawPay IOLTA-compliant?

Yes. LawPay is designed specifically for legal professionals and maintains IOLTA compliance. Payment processing through LawPay ensures trust and operating account funds are handled according to bar association requirements.

  • Can I use both Calendly and Acuity at the same time?

We recommend choosing one scheduling tool per firm to keep your workflow clean. Bowline supports Calendly, Acuity, or Zoho Bookings — you pick the one your firm prefers during setup.

  • Do I need a developer to set up these integrations?

No. Most Bowline integrations are configured during your onboarding setup by our team. For the native Zoho integrations, connection takes minutes. For third-party tools like DecisionVault and Zportals, we handle the configuration as part of your setup fee.
